The Desk Extension is perhaps the most versatile module for the Module Desk. It connects to the desk on either the left or right side, to create an L-desk. But it’s not just about providing additional space.
As a part of the Wyrmwood line of furniture, it includes the magnetic rail, extending your options for accessories. It also includes the same T-track railing included on the desktop itself, giving you room to attach modules like the 3-Drawer Cubby, PC Tower Mount and more.
The Desk Extension also contains a tilt-lock mechanism, adding the functionality of a drafting table. This is indispensable for artists, architects and others that rely on this kind of table for work or creative pursuits. With the tilt engaged, our brand new magnetic bar and pencil tray can effectively turn a part of your desktop into a fully functioning art station.
The Desk Extension is available in two different configurations. The standard model includes a single leg frame, and is designed to be attached to your desk. It mounts directly to the underside of your desk, so that when you raise and lower your desktop, the extension will raise and lower with it. We also offer a standalone frame for the Desk Extension. This version will include a two-leg frame that can stand independent of your desk – or apart from it altogether! It also includes its own sit/stand motor, so you can raise and lower it independently.
If you’re ordering your Wyrmwood Modular Desk now, you can choose whichever version you prefer. If you purchased a Wyrmwood Modular Desk prior to the May 2026 Kickstarter Campaign, though, you’ll need the standalone Desk Extension – older models of the desktop are not compatible with the single-leg version.
